The month of December began on a rainy note for Mumbaikars breaking two records. Several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs witnessed unseasonal rainfall on Wednesday.
Apart from recording the second highest 24 hour
rain for the month , the maximum temperatures also witnessed a steep dip of nine degrees in one day.
Moderate rains are expected to continue till the weekend.
The rainfall is the result of a cyclonic circulation over southeast Arabian sea.
A yellow alert has been issued for Mumbai, Thane and Palghar for Wednesday.
Mumbaikars, who were eagerly awaiting for winters to arrive, posted memes on social media after witnessing unseasonal rainfall.
