Watch: Viral video of dog bowing down to Lord Ganesha is winning hearts

A heartwarming video that has surfaced on social media shows a pet dog accompanied by his owner, paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha outside a temple.

The small clip shows a man folding his hands, paying his respects to Lord Ganesha at a temple. As the man offers his prayer, his dog also bows down its head in front of Ganpati Bappa and is seen submitting itself in front of the god. The cute labrador lowers its head and touches the ground with the bottom of its face.

A soothing song plays in the background as the duo pay respects to Bappa and appear in deep reverence.

Both of them look like they’re a regular at the temple as they stand there for a while. When the man is done paying his respects to Lord Ganesha, the dog gets up and walks away with him.



The video appears to have been recorded by a passerby who noticed the duo. It was uploaded on Instagram by a user named ‘thrifts_grace’. It has amassed over 2 million views and 281k likes.

The uploader didn't identify the location of the clip, although many in the comments section claimed that the scene was shot at Pune's Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir and the man accompanying the dog is named Vishal.

The video of the same has also gone viral on the internet and has melted the hearts of netizens.
