Heavy rainfall that started Monday evening flooded almost the entire Jodhpur city on Tuesday morning.
The city witnessed heavy rain on Monday evening, which continued for 2 hours. Roads of the walled city turned into rivers, which swept away parked vehicles. All the low-lying areas were left flooded and the drainage system collapsed.
Rainwater entered the railway station flooding the railway tracks, platforms and waiting rooms. Rai ka Bagh railway station was completely submerged in water. The Railway administration suspended some trains in view of heavy rainfall in the entire region.
Hospitals, government offices and market places like Sabji Mandi were flooded with rainwater and the municipal corporation staff was roped in to remove this water.
Public life was severely affected by the rain, as it was difficult for the people to commute to their workplaces and hospitals. Considering the seriousness of the waterlogging everywhere, the district administration ordered the schools to remain shut on Tuesday.
Here are some of the videos that captured cars, bikes, cylinders, vegetable carts, etc being washed away and went viral on social media.
Just like Jodhpur streets, social media too was flooded, albeit with memes.
