Watch: Traffic cop sweeps stones off busy road to ensure vehicle don’t slip, gets hailed
In a video that has gone viral on social media, a traffic constable is seen sweeping a busy street, clearing it of gravel and stones to ensure safety of motorists, who risk getting skidded.
The video was posted on Twitter by IAS Officer Awanish Sharan, who captioned it “Respect for you”.
In the short clip, an unidentified traffic constable uses a broom to sweep stones off road as vehicles pass around the cop.
Gravels on roads can often cause vehicles, especially two-wheelers to skid. Even four-wheelers have their tires punctured when they pass over sharp stones.
The cop, instead of waiting for designated sweeper to clean the road, himself takes the charge to carefully move gravel out of motorists’ paths to ensure they and their vehicles remain safe
The video has garnered over 1.3 million views, 7000 retweets and 72k likes. Netizens hailed the policeman for selflessly taking responsibility for something that isn’t primarily his job.
