Mumbai city has been witnessing heavy rains from Monday midnight, and the intensity increased early Tuesday morning with strong winds, according to some citizens.

Andheri subway was closed for traffic movement on Tuesday due to waterlogging following heavy rainfall in several parts of Mumbai.


The IMD, in its 5-day forecast, has stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in a few places on August 9, with an orange alert being issued.
