IMD Doppler radar on Thursday evening indicated moderate intensity clouds leading to lightning & thunder. For the weekend, IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai with thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds at isolated places being very likely.

IMD also predicted that conditions have become favourable for the advancement of monsoon to enter some parts of south Maharashtra in a day, which is a positive indicator, but experts said that heavy rain activity may only pick up after June 20.
