Man using dating app to rent place in Mumbai, profile goes viral
People normally use dating apps to find soulmates, bedmates or just friends with benefits. But a man from Kerala made his profile on dating app Bumble to search for a rented accommodation in Mumbai.
Treating the dating app like some brokerage app, the man's profile has left netizens amused because of how he chose to use the platform - not to find a date but a room to rent in Mumbai.
The man who hails from Ernakulam in Kerala explicitly mentions in his bio reads, "Not a sapiosexual. Looking for a flat in Mumbai."
He asks the users of the dating app to swipe right on his profile if they belong to Mumbai and will be comfortable helping him find a place near the Western Line. The man also states that he does not speak Hindi and thus needs Mumbaikars to help him rent a place.
Screenshots of his profile were shared on Twitter by user Ana de Aamras with the caption, "no YOU'RE looking for a soulmate on bumble, he's looking to rent a place in Bombay."
In one of the screenshots, the Kerala man states that the quickest way to his heart was to send him leads of non-brokerage properties in Andheri. He further mentions that he will not judge if the person asks him for brokerages.
Since being posted, the post has gone viral on social media and several Twitter users have been bowled over with the man's quirkiness, honesty and uniqueness.
Many agreed that finding accommodation in Mumbai at affordable rates that too brokerage-free can be tough for outsiders and thus lauded the man’s desperate attempt to find a rented place in the maximum city.
