woman finds nearly $1 billion in her account over the weekend leaving her shocked and horrified.

She just went to withdraw $20 from

ATM

on Saturday morning but found nearly $1 billion in her

bank account

. She said the ATM machine prompted “We’ll give you the $20 but that’ll cause an overdraft and you will be charged” after that, she decided to check her balance and noticed the amount, according to news report by 11Alive .

While most people would be jumping out of happiness after seeing $1 billion in their account but Julia Yonkowski, a resident of Largo, Florida was ‘horrified’ after seeing $999,985,855.94 in her account.

On Tuesday a representative of

Chase Bank

cleared all the fuss by explaining that Ms Yonkowski's account balance was actually negative. “It wasn’t a positive balance, but a negative balance of nearly a billion dollars that was listed.” the representative of the bank confirmed to NBC's Channel 8 News.



The representative explained to NBC's Channel 8 News the negative balance is a fraud prevention method that is used when an account is frozen. It happens when the account seems suspicious and that was the main reason why she was not able to withdraw $20.

Yonkowski’s late husband was a joint owner of the bank account, and it was flagged when she attempted to use it, as mentioned by 11Alive News.
