This Punjabi engineer from Chennai is celebrating Thirukkural one olai at a time

Everything has its own longevity, a fact that many of us were forced to come to terms with, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. This very concept is what prompted a 58-year-old Sikh man in Chennai to work on his passion project. Jaswant Singh, a civil engineer who wears his love for Tamil on his sleeves, recently etched all the 1,330 couplets of the world-famous Thirukkural on palm leaves or olai chuvadi.
