Thousands of people gathered at Galle Face in Colombo on Saturday as protests against the Sri Lankan government continued, calling for the president's resignation over alleged economic mismanagement. Protesters carrying national flags and placards, some bemoaning the hardships through songs, called out President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his administration for mismanaging the crisis. Rajapaksa has remained steadfast in refusing to step down even after most of his Cabinet quit and loyal lawmakers rebelled, narrowing a path for him to seek a way out as he seeks to negotiate with international lending institutions.
