He faced rejection in Mumbai six years ago and now Vijay Deverakonda is sending his fans into a frenzy as his much-anticipated film ‘Liger’ releases today. He’s all geared up to impress the masses with the sports drama. The dashing actor who has earned a loyal fanbase with his films and performances over the years has a huge fan following even in Bengal.Although there were no such promotional activities in Kolkata for ‘Liger’ cine buffs, especially the youth, are super charged up to witness Vijay’s onscreen magic. According to industry sources, the opening day sees ‘Liger’ managing approximately 200 shows and the numbers are expected to grow in the coming days. Such is the craze that two other Bengali films releasing on the same day, ‘Kolkata Chalantika’ and ‘Lokkhi Chhele’ have managed to get only a few shows and the huge difference between the show count between ‘Liger’ and these two films have even irked a certain portion of cine-goers in Bengal. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the sports-action flick sees Vijay as the titular MMA fighter along with Ananya. Tyson will be seen making a cameo in the film, which is being released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film marks Vijay's Hindi debut and Ananya's first multi-lingual film.
