New mommy Kalki Koechlin names her daughter 'Sappho', posts a heart-warming message for new mothers

Kalki Koechlin gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Guy Hershberg on February 7th and now, taking to Instagram, the actress has made an official announcement. The new mother shared an ink print of her newborn's feet and revealed that she has named her 'Sappho', after the Greek poet from 6th century BCE. In her caption, she thanked everyone for their 'good wishes and positive energy'. Kalki also lauded all women who have gone through the 'intense and gruesome experience' of childbirth and acknowledged the physical and psychological toll it takes on the mother.
