Lyricist Javed Akhtar had earlier expressed his disbelief on finding his name on the poster of the PM Modi biopic. Now, opening up on the matter, he said it was unfair on the part of the producers to rehash his old song and put his name in the credits when he hadn't even worked on the remake version. The lyricist added that buying copyrights of an old song is quite the common practice these days and his name should not have featured as the songwriter of the film. Javed said that there has to be basic honesty as this is against the practice and tradition. The film, which was earlier slated to release on April 5th, has been postponed until further notice.
