The Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau, Sameer Wankhede, is probably the most talked about man these days after starkid Aryan Khan, and the reason behind all the limelight is obviously the task he has in hands of eradicating the drug menace from Maharashtra's capital city Mumbai. But, do you know the NCB cop has a Bollywood connection? Sameer Wankhede, a 2008 batch Indian Revenue Service officer, is married to popular Marathi actress Kranti Redkar. Kranti has worked with actor Ajay Devgn in his 2003 film Gangajal. The couple tied the knot in 2017. Now, in an exclusive chat with ETimes, the actress talked about how the top-cop deals with the drug cases and tries to maintain a peaceful environment at home. Talking about her husband, Kranti said, 'Sameer has always been a hard worker. His operations and cases were there even before too. Today, he is dealing with Bollywood-related drug probe cases, which is why it is getting highlighted.' Revealing more about her husband's dedication towards work, she mentioned that Sameer doesn't talk about his cases at home and she respects the 'secrecy of his job'. She added, 'He sometimes gets so busy that he can't even sleep. He works 24/7. He barely sleeps for 2 hours. He does secret operations on an everyday basis, and he is not even allowed to reveal anything related to that with his family. Sameer is in such a field where he can not sit idle for a minute. Even after coming home, he discusses the operations with his team over the phone.' Talking about their kids and how much they miss their dad at home, the actress said, 'Our twin babies sometimes miss him at home, which is obvious. But Sameer knows I am there at home to take care of his family, kids and he does not have to worry about anything. I am so proud that Sameer is sacrificing his personal life, kids and family for the nation.' Terming her husband as 'an introvert and a very reserved man', Kranti revealed how happy she is to see Sameer giving interviews to the media regarding his cases. She said, 'He never opens up about anything to anyone. He never smiles. I have asked him to smile while giving interviews but he smirks. But yes, he is NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, and I respect and love the way he is. I am so proud of him.'
