Celebs with Himachal Pradesh connect come on board to wage war against drugs in the state

After Punjab, Himachal Pradesh has prepared a pitch to reign in rampant drug abuse in the state. The project of roping in celebs, initiating a social movement is conceptualized by the state police through a recently-constituted drug combat wing. Their strategy is to highlight ill-effects of drugs, counsel the youth, break the drug nexus through the demand-supply chain. While the celebrities’ recorded messages are being spread on various social platforms- Twitter, Facebook handles, celebs from diverse fields, including music, sports are coming on board to initiate a mass campaign. Within days of the new operation, as many as 10 celebs including Anupam Kher, Preity Zinta, Mohit Chauhan, Priyanka Negi, Khali recorded messages, telling people not to indulge. The operation supervised by range DIG’s and the state DGP, SR Mardi will see celebs working jointly, who will visit various cities for a campaign. For crusades on virtual platform, they will compile video messages. Video slides for live interactions and streaming at remote locations of HP will also be prepared.
