Alia Bhatt reveals she took inspiration from Pakistani actress for her role in ‘Kalank’, Sanam Saeed gives best wishes

Alia Bhatt, one of the most talented and versatile Bollywood actresses we have in the Hindi film industry is experimental with her roles. This time, the 26-year-old actress will be seen in a period drama for the first time among many other A-listed actors. To prepare for her look and diction in the pre-partition drama 'Kalank', actor Alia Bhatt turned to acclaimed Pakistani drama 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' featuring Sanam Saeed. In an interview Alia said, 'The character of the girl Kashaf played by Sanam Saeed in the show is very much how Roop will deal with the situation'. Alia further added saying, Sanam Saeed very beautifully breathed life into her character and carried all her qualms, anxieties and pressures so effortlessly. It is this aspect of Sanam’s acting that she seems to have drawn inspiration from. This interview spread fast, and of course, the news reached Sanam Saeed herself, Sanam also responded to Alia's revelation and gave her wishes via tweet. 'Kalank' will be hitting the cinemas on 17th April 2019.
