Street Theatre has been a form of art that has been common in India for many decades. While in the past it was just used as part of campaigns, hartals or protests, now it is given a lot more importance by artistes and many use it creatively for a variety of causes too. For the past five years, the P J Antony Foundation in Kochi has been organising a street theatre fest, for which artistes from various part of the country turn up. It is named Theruvarangu.
