Kerala hosts many important kathakali fests in various parts of the State from time to time. Recently, a prestigious kathakali fest, named kathakali mahotsavam, was kicked off at Changampuzha Park in Kochi. The fest will be held for five days. The kathakali mahotsavam is organised to celebrate the anniversary of Edappally kathakali aswadana sadas, and to commemorate renowned kathakali patron and kathakali aswadana sadas’ former member P K Godavarma. The show, which started on January 23, was inaugurated by Dr Ettumanoor Kannan.
