Gorintaku actress Kavyashri: My parents aren’t allowing me but I try to sneak out and feed the stray dogs

Kavyashri, popularly known as Srivalli, is Telugu television’s new muse. She is one promising talent that has announced her presence with the daily soap Gorintaku, one of the most-watched daily soaps. Like millions, lockdown has affected her professional life but the actress says quarantine life is not new to her. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, the Gorintaku actress gave a sneak peek into her lockdown routine and how she is coping up with the unexpected break.

When I was first scared of Covid-19

A couple of weeks prior to the nation-wide lockdown, when I was shooting in Hyderabad for Gorintaku, my mom called me up and informed me that the city has reported a case. That is when I was first scared of. We wrapped up the shoot as early as possible and reached Bangalore.

My lockdown routine

Frankly, I used to have a routine when I had work. My routine is ruined because of this lockdown. Now, every night before I sleep, I would plan so many things and the first thing would be waking up early. But that doesn’t happen at all.

Quarantine life is not new to me

I’m someone who can live in my room all my life. So, this quarantine life is not new to me. Except for the fact that I can’t go out, nothing else is difficult for me.

5/11

The first thing I do is disturbing Nikhil

Nikhil is one of my close friends that I’m in regular touch with. So, the first thing I do after having breakfast is call and disturb him, just like Srivalli does to Parthu (laughs). I love annoying him. We have a common friend and we keep making video calls frequently.

Most annoying part about social-distancing

Being with my younger sister (laughs). She always keeps poking me, checking on me and bothering all the time. I know, though it is annoying now, I’ll not get this time again.

7/11

Reading a book that I bought 2 months back

I’m getting to revisit all my memories, talk to my friends and family members. Moreover, I’m reading this book ‘The Longest Ride’ – something I picked up two months back at an airport. If not for the lockdown, I don’t know when I would’ve read it.

Learning Instagram; Nikhil is my Insta Guru

Earlier, I hardly used to spend around one and a half hours on mobile. But now, hardly for one and a half hours I’m taking a break from mobile. I’m mostly on Instagram, actually learning the platform with the help of my Insta Guru – Nikhil (laughs). I made my Insta debut in November, 2019, only upon his insistence.

I’m worried more about stray dogs and the homeless

We are quarantining because we have homes. But what about stray dogs and homeless people? I’m more worried about them. My parents aren’t allowing me to step out but now and then I try to sneak outside and feed the stray dogs.

Will munch on pizzas once the lockdown ends

I’ll go to my favourite outlet and munch on a few pizzas once the lockdown ends. Not that I can’t order online now but my parents aren’t allowing it. Besides, missing my shoots and shopping as well. I’m able to save some money as well (laughs).

3 things that I’ll not take for granted now

Food, people and hygiene. Wasting food, caring for others and maintaining hygiene is something we must not take for granted. I would like to also request everyone not to be careless. Your one mistake can cost everyone.
