From Sreemukhi to Ali Reza: Popular TV celebs who quit their shows midway

One of the most disappointing moments for fans is when their favourite actor quits a TV show or favourite character in a show ends abruptly. This is a routine in Telugu TV industry as well. Well, actors quit a show for various reasons which often include money, differences with the makers of the show or better opportunities. Adding to this, there are instances when an actor or TV host is replaced from a show for various reasons. Here’s a quick look at the list of popular TV celebrities who quit their shows midway.

The ace TV host took her fans by surprise by quitting Pataas season 2, one of her most successful shows. It was initially rumoured that Sreemukhi quit the show to take part in Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 but in an exclusive chat with TimesofIndia.com, she clarified that she quit the show due to reasons other than Bigg Boss.

Ravi, one of the most sought after Telugu TV hosts, recently quit his popular TV series Pataas. As per close sources, he opted out of the show due to differences with the makers of the show. He later announced his exit from the show to fans and wished his good friend Chalaki Chanti who was roped in as the host of the show. Earlier, he also quit Dhee Champions which led to the entry of Hyper Aadi.

Bhanu Sri shot to fame with Bigg Boss Telugu season 2. Soon after her exit from the show, she appeared on the dance reality show Dhee Jodi. However, she had to quit the show midway reportedly owing to her contract with the channel airing Bigg Boss Telugu. After a brief hiatus, she will soon join the comedy show Adirindhi as a co-host.

TV actor Kaushal Manda had to quit his popular daily soap Suryavamsham to take part in Bigg Boss Telugu season 2. However, he was on a sabbatical from quite a while. He recently made a comeback into the show to reprise the role of Aadi Shankar but the show subsequently went off-air.

Jabardasth was one of the most successful shows in the TV career of the popular actor-producer. Putting an end to his seven-years of association with the popular comedy show, Nagababu has opted out of it. Rumour mill has it that he quit the show owing to differences with the producers of the show. However, the actor released a video citing ideological differences as the reason behind his exit from the show.

Chandra and RP, who shot to fame with Jabardasth, also quit the show following Nagababu’s exit. The two were seen as team leaders in the show that earned them stardom. The comedy show that encourages new talents saw the exit of many other actors.

Recently popular TV actress-turned TV host Sameera Sherief has been replaced from the comedy show ‘Adirindhi’ as a host. In an exclusive chat with TimesofIndia.com, Sameera stated that it could be the collective decision of the production house and channel airing the show to replace her from the show. She added that she was upset to learn the news from outsiders but not the channel or production house. Moreover, Sameera claims she wasn’t communicated the reason behind her replacement, too.

Bigg Boss Telugu 3 finalist Ali Reza had to quit his popular show Maate Mantramu recently under unexpected circumstances. He left the daily soap to participate in Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 that started in July, 2019. However, he reportedly didn’t resume shooting for Maate Mantramu post-Bigg Boss. He was also recently banned by Telugu Television Producers Council (TTPC) on the same grounds.
