From Nagarjuna Akkineni to Rashmi Gautam: Here’s how much these Telugu celebs donated towards Covid-19 relief

Ever since the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country, Telugu celebrities have been coming forward to donate towards the relief activities. From Chiranjeevi Konidela, Nagarjuna Akkineni to Jr NTR, several south superstars have donated whopping amounts towards various relief funds. A few Telugu TV celebs have also declared their contributions. Here’s a quick look at how much these celebs have donated towards the relief activities.

Chiranjeevi Konidela

The megastar, who was last seen on Telugu television hosting Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu has announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore towards the welfare of cine workers.

“The lockdown situation while mandatory to deal with the #CoronaCrisis, also adversely impacts the lives of daily wage workers & lower-income groups in the country including the #TeluguFilmIndustry. Keeping this in mind I am donating Rs.1 Cr for providing relief to the Film workers (sic),” reads his tweet on March 26.

Nagarjuna Akkineni

Bigg Boss Telugu 3 host Nagarjuna Akkineni also announced a donation of Rs. 1 crore for the welfare of daily wage workers in the industry who are affected by the Covid-19 outbreak.

“#lockdown is a harsh reality and a necessity!!! Appreciating the response from my colleagues folded hands I am Donating an amount of Rs 1 Crore for now as my bit for the well being of daily wages Film workers during this

#Coronacrisis. May god bless us!! #StayHomeStaySafe (sic),” reads his tweet on March 28.

Rana Daggubati and his family

No.1 Yaari with Rana host Rana Daggubati and his family have donated an amount of Rs. 1 crore towards the Corona Crisis Charity fund established for the welfare of the most affected in the Telugu film industry. Chiranjeevi, in one of his recent tweets, has confirmed the same.

Bigg Boss Telugu season 1 host Jr NTR has contributed Rs. 50 lakhs towards PM relief fund and Rs. 25 lakhs towards the welfare of the daily wage workers in the Telugu film industry.

Bigg Boss Telugu season 2 host Nani has made a donation of Rs. 50 lakhs towards the fund established for the welfare of workers in Tollywood. Though Nani was tight-lipped about the same, Chiranjeevi has confirmed the same in one of his recent tweets.

Saikumar

Actor-TV host Saikumar, who is currently seen hosting the game show Manam, has donated Rs. 500004 /- towards Corona Crisis Charity. The popular dubbing artist has also donated an amount of Rs. 800008 /-to the welfare of other affected artists in the dubbing union as well.

Pradeep Machiraju

The ace TV host has announced financial support to over 60 families of daily wage workers in the Telugu TV industry. In an Instagram video released on Saturday (March 28) night, Pradeep spoke about the lockdown situation and announced that he will financially support the families in need for one month. He mentioned that this is a small effort to support the workers who work for his TV shows. Pradeep also requested everyone to inquire about the needs of the daily wage workers they know of and support them in the tough times.

Rashmi Gautam

Popular Telugu anchor Rashmi Gautam made a donation of Rs. 25000/- towards PMCARES. She took to her Twitter to announce the same and encourage her fans to donate further. Rashmi also pledged to donate to a few NGO to feed the needy during this Covid-19 lockdown phase.

"I have donated 25000 as of now will be doing my bit by donating to a few honest NGO's too while I use my resources… (sic)," reads her tweet.
