Exclusive - Bigg Boss Telugu 5's evicted contestant Anee: It hurts to see female contestants supporting and seeking a male contestant's company for screen time

Ace choreographer Anee proved the naysayers wrong with her performance in Bigg Boss Telugu season 5. She got evicted on Sunday's episode and in an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, the seasoned choreographer-TV judge stated that she did not take part in the reality show for popularity. From what pricked her to her pickings from the show, Anee spoke at length about her sensational Bigg Boss journey. Excerpts...

I didn't give the masala and spice the show needs

I expected myself in the finale. But guess I didn't give the masala and spice that many like in the show. Moreover, I had zero PR and no PR agency campaigning for me like others. I'm just a technician. I haven't asked anyone to support me. Neither did my family. So, I might not have got enough votes to survive longer. But I accepted my fate and I was happy with my journey. My family was very happy. My son was like you were the best but you shouldn't have shouted at anyone. My husband feels my eviction was unfair.

Show me one episode where I was backb*ching

Before entering the house, I was told that being close with Shanmukh can fetch me votes as he is quite popular on social media. But that's not me. I can't fake an emotion or equation with any one just because it'll get me votes. I can even challenge you to show me one episode where I'm back b*tching or assassinating someone's character. It is just not me.

I felt bad when someone said I survived because of Sunny

I felt bad when some people texted me saying I survived in the house because Sunny's fans voted for me and I got evicted just because I was in Ravi's group. I don't believe in it. But let me clarify, I, too, had friends in the house but I never begged for anyone's help even that of Ravi or Sreerama Chandra in any task. I was not against friendship, I was vocal against groupism especially contestants playing as a group even in an individual task.

We used to talk about travel and food

In fact, Sunny, Sweta and I were very close in the first four weeks. We used to have loads of fun and laughter talking about traveling, food and everything under the sun. Sunny got close to Maanas and Kajal later. I developed a rapport with Sreerama Chandra only recently.

Naagin dance and Jai Mata Di were my anger management tools

I saw a few episodes and the fact that I cooked dinner for nearly 70 days or that I didn't have a negative remark on me was not well established. Only my naagin dance, Jai Mata Di and my anger got highlighted. I haven't disrespected anyone, especially Kajal. I repeat. I haven't disrespected or mocked anyone in the house. It was my way of controlling my anger and aggression. I have nothing against Kajal, it's just our equation was not right.

A few contestants used inappropriate language and gestures

A lot happened there which may not be aired. At times, a few contestants used inappropriate language and gestures, too. Kajal and Uma tried to grab the baton from inside my shirt during the baton task. I had severe scratches on my body. It was not aired. I know this is common in physical tasks. But how else will you react when something shocking like that happens? Again, you can't complain, its a reality show. In real life, you have an option to avoid someone you have differences with. What would you do when you have to move around someone you don't like or someone provokes you time and again? You would lose it one day or the other. I agree that I had my share of outbursts in the house. I know I can be flawless if I can control my outbursts. Even before stepping into the house, my friends advised me not to get hyper if I don't like something. But I can't help it. This is me.

I've been getting lewd messages

I've been battling trolls for a long while. Besides all the appreciation, I've been getting lewd messages on social media about my BB journey, too. A lot of these are just smear campaigns. We will be fine and happy after the show concludes. I just want to see where these trollers will hide their faces when we are back together?

Men have more power

Men have a little more power due to which they do have an edge in physical tasks. The recent captaincy task where Maanas won is the latest example. That's my point. Fitness levels of actors are different. I'm just a choreographer yet I've taken on Jessie in the mud pit task.

It pricks me to see female contestants doing this

I haven't come for publicity. I just wanted to prove that a female technician can do this (Bigg Boss) as well. I wanted to set an example for many women like me. Even in the house, I had this question to the contestants - 'What message are you giving to the public with your gameplay?' This was not aired. But it pricks to see female contestants either supporting or seeking the company of a male contestant to grab screen time? I wonder if they'd continue the same and lose their trump cards tomorrow.

My mom is a fan of Sunny; my son loves Sreerama Chandra

You know, my mother is a fan of Sunny, my husband is a fan of Sreerama Chandra and my son loves Sreerama Chandra and Shanmukh. But now that I'm evicted, I don't care who wins the show. I just want a neutral contestant who is an all round entertainer playing an independent game and can set a good example to the public to win the show.
