Bigg Boss Telugu 3 evicted contestant Himaja: I need not be wrongly projected as ‘selfish’ to get evicted

Actress Himaja Reddy took no time to turn heads in Bigg Boss Telugu season 3 with her honesty and straight forward attitude. Right from speaking her mind to swooning fans with her dancing talent, Himaja entertained Bigg Boss fans as she evolved into a more ‘confident person’.

Himaja was evicted from the show on September 22 and here’s the actress making some shocking revelations about her eviction and Bigg Boss journey in an exclusive chat with TimesofIndia.com. Excerpts...

2/12

'Why project me as ‘selfish’ to favour Mahesh in elimination?'

I think the makers of the show preferred Mahesh over me because he can be double-tongued and manage to play a safe game. I don’t know if this was their scheme to favour him and eliminate me in the process. But projecting me as ‘selfish’ for this is totally not needed.

3/12

'Vithika shouldn’t have lied in my case'

What the viewers didn’t get to see was my conversation with Vithika after I was saved by Varun. Varun had asked Vithika about the person she would like to nominate if she got a special power to do so. I indeed asked Vithika to nominate me for eviction as I was really feeling guilty because Varun had to sit in the tub of dung and Vithika hurt herself trying to attend him during the task. But what really pricked me was her reason to nominate me. There was no such thing that we agreed upon. Moreover, any contestant reserves the right to refuse to sacrifice too.

4/12

What really happened in the sacrifices task...

Now this is yet another editing gimmick. On one hand, Varun was adamant about completing the task. Bigg Boss calls me during the task and says that Varun isn’t performing the task properly. He instructs me to tell Varun how the task must be done and disconnects the call. Now, it becomes my responsibility to inform the same to Varun. But the team chose to edit this sequence and as a result I was projected as a selfish person.

Even in the case of saving Mahesh, I really forgot about the used clothes and Bigg Boss yet again used this opportunity to get Mahesh nominated. Even this added to the blemish.

5/12

'My father questioned me'

Forget about others, my father asked me why have I been ‘selfish’. I had to explain to him what happened behind-the-scenes . He was shocked and disappointed that it wasn’t shown in the episode. So, my own family has been tricked into believing the obvious.

6/12

'That moment I really felt good for standing up for myself'

When most of the housemates chose to sacrifice to bring back Ali and Punarnavi after their secret task, I genuinely didn’t feel so. That moment I really felt good about myself when I could boldly voice out my opinion. I didn’t want to be a sheep.

7/12

'I challenge anyone to prove these allegations'

Any contestant needs campaigning when public voting decides your survival in the house. And it is quite obvious that your family campaigns wherever it requires to be done. I challenge anyone who is accusing my family of offering money and gifts to public to mobilise votes, to prove their allegations. I don’t want to insult the efforts of my family by talking about these false allegations.

8/12

'My only complaint about the show'

Of course, they are showing what we do but not completely. Why can’t we just be portrayed as we are?

9/12

3 biggest changes in me after taking part in Bigg Boss...

I learnt how to live with people whom we don’t like and prove them wrong. I learnt to speak up and fight for myself. I’m a very sensitive person. This Bigg Boss journey taught me to be more sportive and confident. Earlier, I used to emotionally depend on a few people but not anymore.

10/12

'I was tired of eating dal and potatoes'

I’m a big foodie. But all we got in the house was potatoes and dal. I’m tired of them. I ate pani puri the moment I stepped out of the house and it’s going to be a non-vegetarian food festival at home this entire week (laughs).

11/12

'They don’t deserve to be in the house'

Vithika and Punarnavi don’t deserve to be in the house. I told Varun about the same. Fortunately, they have been surviving nominations for a while. Their true potential will be revealed if they are in the elimination race. I will nominate them the moment I make a re-entry.

12/12

About re-entry into the house

I got to realise the support of the viewers only after I stepped out of the house. Had I known this before, my game would have been different. I don’t mind going back into the show if the audience really want me to.
