None other than B'wood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is promoting 'Brahmamudi', the upcoming TV soap that will replace the popular show Karthika Deepam soon.
A recent teaser released by the channel airing the show features SRK talking about Kavya, the lead character in Brahmamudi. Being a painter at heart and a responsible elder sister, Kavya's world crosses paths with the male protagonist, who has a polar opposite personality. How their fates are entwined forms the crux of the plot. In the video, Shah Rukh talks about the launch of the new daily soap and seeks the support of the audiences along with his upcoming release as well.
New daily soaps are often promoted by superstars. Mahesh Babu, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and others have promoted a few daily soaps in the past. But Bollywood's 'King Khan' SRK promoting a new Telugu daily soap has grabbed everyone's attention.
Interestingly, Brahmamudi features Maanas Nagulapalli in the lead role and Hamida Khatoon of Bigg Boss Telugu 5 and BB Non-Stop fame in a supporting role. This show marks the debut of Hamida in the Telugu fiction space. Maanas, on the other hand, is a familiar face on Telugu television. He has played lead roles in popular shows like Koilamma and even in Karthika Deepam, after the show took a generation leap.
As per the teaser, Brahmamudi will premiere on January 24 (Wednesday) at 7:30PM. Meanwhile, latest reports reveal that Karthika Deepam shall air its last episode on January 21 (Saturday). It remains to be seen if the new daily soap replacing Karthika Deepam can measure up to the expectations and sustain its viewership over a longer period of time.
