Bigg Boss Telugu 4: From roping in Gangavva to Samantha's cameo as a host, highlights of this season

Bigg Boss Telugu 4 is one of the most underrated seasons of the reality TV series in Telugu. Here's a quick look at the highlights of the season.

The 59-year-old contestant drove the show during the initial days. She enjoys attention from the housemates and fans alike since day one. Her accent, fun antics and witty one-liners were enjoyed by everyone including host Nagarjuna. She eventually got evicted due to health issues.

Besides Gangavva, a love triangle which was projected between the three served as a driving factor for the makers of the show. It took many ugly turns over the course of time and Monal and Akhil were inseparable towards the end of the season while Abhijeet chose to stay away from her.

Divi, who was not seen much in the show during the first week of the show, shot to fame with her brutal opinion on the housemates. She was widely appreciated for honestly voicing out her observations.

This is the task that spiced up the show. Abhijeet's tactics to win the task, Sohel and Mehaboob's reaction to it and Gangavva's role as a catalyst won laurels on social media.

Devi Nagavalli raised many eyebrows when she called out Amma Rajasekhar describing his comedy as 'substandard' and accused him of being biased in the show. Amma Rajasekhar broke down into tears after he collapsed in the episode unable to handle her allegations. She was the first one to call out Amma Rajasekhar on the show.

Avinash emerged as the 'best entertainer of the season' with his rib tickling antics, witty one-liners and hilarious imitation of fellow contestants. The way he flirted with Ariyana and Monal but stood by the former as a friend and fought with the other was quite amusing to the followers of the show.

This task helped Sohel hog limelight as he along with Mehaboob stole the coins from other contestants. The sequence where Mehaboob missed the switch coin which was obtained by Sujatha changed the game and equations in the house.

Noel Sean, who was a promising contestant got evicted due to health issues. He was the second contestant after Gangavva to exit the house on health grounds. He lashed out at Avinash and Amma Rajasekhar for bullying him which rubbed them the wrong way. Abhijeet and Harika also promised Noel to reach the finale.

Akhil had to step out of the house in the most unexpected way but he was sent into the secret room where he overheard the conversations of the contestants. In a dramatic weekend episode that followed, Akhil was saved and made the captain of the house.

Samantha Akkineni stepped into the show for Nagarjuna as a host when he was away for his upcoming film shoot. She charmed fans with her smile, confidence and vivaciousness. A majority of respondents to one of our Instagram polls say Samantha did a better job than Ramyakrishan who was the guest host in BB Telugu 3.

It was one of the rarest sights when BB Telugu met BB Tamil host Kamal Haasn on his birthday. Nagarjuna along with BB Telugu contestants connected with Kamal Haasan and BB Tamil contestants virtually and sent out their best birthday wishes. Kamal interacted with BB Telugu contestants and shared a few tips as well.

This season's race to finale was one of the dramatic series of tasks that rubbed the contestants on the wrong side. It not only tested Akhil and Sohel's friendship but also pushed Ariyana to extremes. From Sohel's sacrifice for Akhil to the ugly fights between Sohel, Akhil and Avinash to Sohel and Ariyana, the race to finale managed to keep the viewers hooked to the small screens despite the change in the time slot of its telecast.
