The demise of 28-year-old popular TV actress Chitra has left the entertainment industry in deep shock. The actress, who was recently seen playing Mullai in 'Pandian Stores', was found hanging in a hotel Nazarathpettai today (December 9) morning. From her acting stint to lesser-known real-life side, here is all about the late actress.

Chitra made her TV debut as an anchor of the show Sattam Solvathu Enna. Later, she was seen hosting popular shows like to host a number of shows 'Jill Jung Juk', 'Mannan Magal' and 'Aaha Maamiyar Oho Marumagal' and more.

The actress shot to fame with her character Mullai in 'Pandian Stores'. Besides 'Pandian Stores', she also won laurels for her realistic acting in Mannan Magal (as Vishali), Chinna Papa Periya Papa (as Periya Papa), Saravanan Meenatchi (as Kalaiyarasi) and Velunachi.

Besides her TV stint, Chitra enjoyed a huge social media fan following for her off-screen stint, too. The actress was a trained dancer and a martial artist.

Recently, Chitra announced on her social media account that she got engaged to businessman Hemant and was expected to tie the knot with him in a few months.

According to reports, Chitra was found hanging in the hotel room where she stayed after her routine shoot. The police have filed a case in the death of Chitra and investigation is reportedly under progress.

After Chitra's demise, one of her last videos is making rounds on social media. In the video from one of the TV show sets, the actress is spotted with Sharanya Turadi of 'Nenjam Marappathillai' fame. In the video, Sharanya is seen pulling Chitra's leg, who is busy talking to her fiance.

Several people from the television fraternity are shocked by Chitra's demise. Singer-actress Soundarya Bala Nandakumar, who has worked with Chithu for a couple of shows, said, "My fondest memory of her is when we spent time in Tokyo, last year, for a Tamil New Year show. She literally won the audiences' hearts by being a beautiful host. I still cannot believe someone like Chitra could choose something harsh for herself. I wish I had been there for her had I known she was going through something. She was one of my beautiful colleagues from the industry. May her soul Rest In Peace".
