Bigg Boss Tamil 5: From Varun to Thamaraiselvi, here's a look at promising contestants who disappointed this season

Bigg Boss Tamil 5 is set for a grand gala finale celebration on January 16 (Wednesday). The season had begun with 19 contestants and only five contestants had managed to step into the final week: Raju Jeyamohan, Priyanka Deshpande, Amir, Pavani Reddy, and Niroop Nandhakumar. Here is a list of contestants who disappointed the fans with their game play.

Actress Namitha Marimuthu is the first transgender contestant in the history of Bigg Boss Tamil. Her inspiring story of overcoming humiliations and rejections, left the listeners in tears, both inside and outside the house. However, she walked out of the house due to health issues on Day 6.

Isaivani is a music sensation who is a part of director Ranjith’s music band, ‘Casteless Collective’. The gana singer entered the house with the popularity she had already gained through her stage performances. But she faced serious criticism for not focusing on the game properly and eventually started losing the people’s votes. The singer left the BB house with a gana performance that moved host Kamal Haasan and the audience.

The void for a controversial contestant that is seen in this season could have been changed, if Abhishek Raja stayed longer inside the house. The film reviewer got trolled by the netizens for trying to ‘influence’ other contestants and was evicted very early in the third week as he received very few votes.

Though he re-entered the BB house as a wild card contestant, he wasn't able to gain the people’s support and was eliminated for the second time very soon.

Varun Kamal got eliminated in the tightly fought contest between Priyanka, Pavni, Ciby, and Niroop. Though the actor managed to impress fans with his good behaviour and aggression, the popularity of other nominated contestants got him to walk out of the house. In fact, Varun’s elimination came as a surprise to the fans as Pavani, the contestant who got nominated three times in a row, was expected to be leaving.

Varun and Akshara were eliminated in the same week through a surprise double eviction. Akshara proved to be the most aggressive and promising contestant of the season. Her competition with Amir in the immunity task won the hearts of the fans. Yet, the double eviction came as a shock and left both the housemates and the fans surprised.

How often do you see a contestant with popular support getting evicted? Imman Annachi’s eviction was such a kind. Known for his strategies, mind games, and comical sense, fans on social media predicted that he would be stepping into the final week. However, Imman Annachi was evicted from the house in the tenth week of the season.

Ciby was seen as one of the most promising contestants of the season. Known for his competitiveness, he put up a great fight to win the ticket to the finale and stayed till the very end. Ciby surprised his fans and followers when he took the money offered for a walk out and got eliminated from the house. However, a few of his fans on social media keep lauding him for his clever decision to accept the money and walk out.

Thamaraiselvi, a folk artist, grabbed the attention with aggressive gameplay, petty fights, and also her innocence. She managed to survive in the house for more than 90 days and expected to be walking down the aisle with Kamal Haasan on the finale day. However, she got eliminated as Niroop entered the finale in an unprecedented way.
