Actress Kasthuri Shankar, (aged 43), made her entry as the second wild card entrant of season 3 edition in Bigg Boss Tamil reality show. She made her entry into on day 46 disguised in a giant gift box. While speaking with the other housemates, Kasthuri said, she is a very short-tempered person and she participated in the show to control her anger.

Kasthuri Shankar is a Chennaiite. Her mother Sumathi, was an advocate and father Shankar was an engineer from IIT. She has a brother. Kasthuri is married to Ravikumar and has two children, a son and a daughter. Post her marriage, she moved to Tennessee, USA. Now, she has shifted her base back to Chennai.

Kasthuri Shankar won the Miss Madras title in 1992. In the same year, she won the Femina Miss Madras beauty pageant too. While studying in college, she started her career in modelling over interest in the domain.

Kasthuri made her acting debut in the movie Aatha Un Koyilile in the year 1991. She has acted in 50 plus films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

Kasthuri Shankar was a contestant in the famous Mastermind India show. Later, she turned into a TV host of the Vina Vidai Vettai, a quiz based show. Now, she is a BB Tamil contestant.

During her stay outside India, Kasthuri worked in top corporates. Later, she became an entrepreneur by establishing a firm, which handles distribution of the Indian films in the overseas market.

In spite of being an actress, Kasthuri Shankar attained huge fame only after she became a social media influencer. She started expressing her views on various social issues in a very bold and straight-forward manner.

Due to the bold expression of her views, Kasthuri Shankar became an active TV commentator also. Being an actor, she commented about political entry of movie stars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on various TV shows. She faced the ire of the fans of these stars for her controversial remarks concerning Rajinikanth and Kamal.

Kasthuri Shankar is an all-rounder in school and college and took part in singing, dancing and quiz competitions. Kasthuri was a studious girl in her school and became a rank holder in SSLC and Plus two exams and won Gold medal also. Besides this, Kasthuri was a state-level hockey champion in her school days. She was involved in National Cadet Corps (India) and went to become an RD (Republic Day) cadet in air force wing.

Kasthuri Shankar has a huge flair for cooking. She makes various dishes and shares the pictures of the same on her social media handles. Immediately after her entry, the housemates asked whether she knows cooking. As soon as she replied with a big yes, they were happy about getting a chance to taste good food.
