Arya: I was lifted to a height of 20ft in Munnar in cold December

Arya is known for always going that extra mile to play his character with conviction on the big screen. He is also someone who doesn’t think twice before performing risky scenes that add value to the film. His dedication to his craft is visible yet again in Captain, which hit screens today.

Among the high points of the film is Arya’s face-off with an alien-looking creature. Narrating his experience shooting for the Shakti Soundar Rajan directorial, Arya said, “There is a particular action sequence between my character and a 120-ft alien creature. I never expected that it is going to be such an excruciating challenge. When Shakti informed me that he has decided to shoot the climax in Munnar, I was a little doubtful if I would be able to process it since it was December, when the winter is at its peak. What turned out to be more challenging was to shoot the action sequence in the rain effect. I was lifted to a height of 20ft with the help of a crane, and for the next three days, it was a terrible task to accomplish. When I thought everything was over, Shakti again informed me that the continuity sequence had to be filmed underwater at 20ft depth in Mumbai during the first week of January! So, the whole process was completely tough. But now, we are happy to see that our hard work has paid off.”

Apart from Arya, the others in the star cast include Simran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Harish Uthaman, Kavya Shetty, Gokul Anand, Suresh Menon, Bharath Raj and Ambuli Gokul.
