​Makers should not portray 'weak' women on-screen

Hruta Durgule said that the makers should not always portray a weak woman on-screen. She said, "I think a weak woman character should not always be there in daily soaps. How can a person be so quiet and weak in all situations and all circumstances? Eventually, all these things look fake on-screen and that is why makers should not portray such roles on-screen."

​People do not praise female actresses much

Hruta complained that people don't appreciate female actresses. She said, "Yes. People do not praise female actresses much. It happened when my recent film Ananya was released. It was a female-centric film and people were hesitant to praise me. I think it was a female-oriented film and an actress played the lead role in it and that why may be people did not applaud me."

​How film actors look down upon TV actors

When host Subodh Bhave asked whether film actors look down upon TV actors or not and Hruta said yes to the question. She said, "Yes, I agree. Film actors look down upon TV actors. I will not take the names of the actors who have done it with me but it is evident. The way they give us vibes because they work on a big on-screen. The fact is that television actors are more popular and people watch them on an everyday basis but still, it is there."

Talking about why people do not accept actresses who have gained weight, Hruta said, "Yes it's because of beauty standards. I don't know, who has kept the boundaries and decided it, but yes it is there. People have many options today and maybe that is the reason."

​"Tough to get famous on social media"

Hruta has become one of the most followed Marathi celebs on social media recently. When asked about whether it is easy or difficult to be famous on social media, Hruta said, "Yes it is tough to get famous on social media. It is hard. It is not easy unlike how we think."
