Despite facing odds, many celebrities have stepped up to help citizens during the lockdown. ​Vikram Gokhale

Veteran actor and Ya Sukhanno Ya TV show fame Vikram Gokhale is known for his performance in Hindi as well as Marathi television shows and films. The actor has donated land worth Rs 2.5 crores to the Marathi entertainment industry. The land, which is close to Nanegaon, Pune, will be utilized to build an old age home for senior actors of the industry who are dealing with the financial crisis due to the covid19 outbreak. Rang Maza Vegla fame Aashotosh Gokhale distributed food to the needy and homeless people during the lockdown. The actor took official permission from the concerned authorities before stepping out for the noble cause. He also posted a few pictures of himself while distributing food. ​Prashant Damle

Marathi TV actor-producer Prashant Damle, who is the producer of several Marathi plays like 'Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta', 'Gela Madhav Kunikade’ took an initiative to financially help his crew members. The actor has not announced his decision by himself but his close friend Pushkar Kshotri posted the pictures of Prashant with his crew members and informed his fans about it. Pushkar said on Instagram, “Even if the theater is closed to prevent the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Prashant Damle is giving Rs.10000 to each crew member. What a great initiative by this caring actor and producer." The drama artists and crew member’s salary is based on the day to day income and profit. In an attempt to salute Mumbai police and the frontline workers, Aggabai Sasubai actress Nivedita Saraf and her better half Ashok Saraf distributed 180 plates of Maharashtrian dessert Aamras Puri to the on-duty police officers at the Oshiwara police headquarters (Mumbai). Vaibhav Mangle

The popular TV and film actor Vaibhav Mangle is financially helping theatre artists by selling his paintings during the lockdown. The actor is known for his straight forward behaviour and devil-may-care attitude has not announced it himself but his close friend and Chala Hawa Yeu Dya actor Kushal Badrike revealed to everyone about Vaibhav's hidden talent. Vaibhav Mangle is lending a helping hand to theatre artists by selling his paintings and has reportedly earned over 70 thousand rupees in the past few months. (PC - Instagram)

Bigg Boss Marathi season 2 fame Parag Kanhere, who is a chef by profession, distributed Vadapav to on-duty police officers in Pune. The chef took official permission from the DCP of Pune for the same. Parag also posted a few pictures of himself while distributing 500 Vadapav at zone 3 in Pune. Fans have lauded his efforts.
