From Amrita to Mohammed Zamroodh, a look at the lesser known side of Dance Kerala Dance contestants

Dance reality show Dance Kerala Dance has stolen a million hearts within no time of its launch. The show which is judged by actress Priyamani, director Jude Antony and choreographer Jai Kumar Nair, has 12 vibrant talents who are paired with celebrities. Here are the lesser known facts about the promising contestants of the show.

The 20-year-old self-made dancer from Thrissur is a school dropout. Amrita lost her father at a very young age and her mother passed away a couple of years ago. As the competition gets tougher, Amrita has kept the judges and audience amazed with her drastic improvement. In the show, Amrita is paired with D 4 Dance fame Ramzan.

Aayush is the youngest contestant in the dance reality show. Besides dance, the 10-year old dancer loves to act and his lip-sync videos are popular on social media. Dancer Ajas is his mentor and dance partner in the show.

The exceptional performer, who stunned the audience with his unique style of dancing, belongs to the hardworking class. His father passed away and his mother is a cancer survivor. The young dancer wants to be recognized as ‘Nikhil Vijayalekshmi', as a loving tribute to his mother.

Prasad is popularly known as the 'Michael Jackson of Dance Kerala Dance'. The 44-year-old dancer is a die-hard fan of iconic pop dancer and musician Michael Jackson aka MJ. He even named his bouquet after MJ. Seeing his unconditional love for the legendary musician, Team DKD has named him as 'MJ Prasad'. Prasad is the oldest contestant of the show and has been pursuing his passion for dance since 1987. Prasad and Sija share good on-stage chemistry too.

Nayana Josan is one of the familiar faces in the show. The young dancer stood fourth in the then-popular dance reality show Super Dancer Junior. Nayana was earlier paired with Biyon but she never ceases to steal the show with Hari Krishnan, her current dance partner on DKD.
