Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passes away at 46; a look at the actor's stint on tv

Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, who was one of the leading actors in Sandalwood, passed away at the age of 46 after suffering a massive heart attack today morning. The actor was rushed to Vikram hospital in Bengaluru and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Appu, as he is fondly known as Puneeth Rajkumar made his small screen debut as a host with the show 'Kannadada Kotyadhipati. The reality show is modeled on the Hindi show Kaun Banega Crorepati, which in turn, was modeled on the British show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.

After turning host for Kannadada Kotyadhipati, Puneeth yet again returned to Kannada small screen with a family-oriented show 'Family Power'.

Puneeth as a host in Family Power managed to build a great rapport with the participants. He would often speak about family values on the show. That's not all, Appu would also encourage the participants while playing games in the show.

This throwback picture of the late actor interacting with the contestants from the reality show Family Power can never be missed. Puneeth, who hosted the reality show, was seen at his casual best on the sets of Family Power. The picture was clicked during the test run of the reality show.

After his stint as a host, Puneeth Rajkumar turned producer to Kannada daily soap 'Manedervru'. This was his first venture as a producer in Kannada TV.
