Kirrik Keerthi and Arpitha on the struggles they faced before getting married

The grand premiere of a new couple-based reality show Jodi No 1 turned out to be a grand success. The show welcomed ten couples as contestants and celebrity couple Kirrik Keerthi and Arpitha are one of them. Having been married for nearly ten years now, the couple had to face a lot of challenges for their love to succeed and enter marital bliss. ​Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Kirrik Keerthi

Keerthi and Arpitha are not new to the Kannada audience. Keerthi has been in the entertainment and news industry for a long time now. He has worked in prestigious channels as a media person and carved a niche for himself. Although he is known for his love for the Kannada language, it was Bigg Boss Kannada season 4 that gave him immense popularity. He even turned out to be the runner-up of the season. On the other hand, Keerthi's wife Arpita is also equally popular in recent days. She has acted in daily soaps like Rukku and Naagini 2 in prominent roles. Besides, Arpitha is also a nutritionist.

​The beginning

During the premiere episode of Jodi No 1, Arpitha revealed that she saw Keerthi for the first time in her college. She went down the memory lane and narrated the incident and how she noticed Keerthi when her Kannada language professor called out her name. Having studied in a Girl's college, Keerthi had visited Arpitha's college for an event.

​The love birds

After their first meet at Arpitha's college, the duo became good friends and shared a great rapport with each other. A friendship that blossomed into love and later faced many struggles to enter marital bliss.

Arpitha's parents object to their love

The couple on the Jodi No 1 stage revealed that they faced a lot of struggles to get married to each other as Arpitha's parents denied their love. Hailing from a very strict and orthodox family who opposed love marriage, Arpitha revealed that she suffered a lot while convincing her parents during that phase. She mentioned that she was hell-bent on getting married to the love of her life.

​Traumatising Phase

Arpitha went on to narrate that she was even beaten by her family members when she took a stand for her love. She even mentioned that her family members even tried their best to brainwash her to overcome Keerthi's love. Even today, having been married for ten years, Arpitha mentioned she still gets chills when she thinks of those days. She even shed tears while narrating the same on the stage.

​House arrested for 45 days

The couple continued to narrate their struggling period and mentioned that Arpitha was kept under tight supervision by her parents. She was not allowed to contact anyone or get out of the house for 45 days. However, she averred that her love for Keerthi never faded and continued to fight for it. She mentioned saying that she survived by eating just curd rice for those 45 days.

​Communicating with each other was a challenge

Keerthi mentioned that he had almost lost hope that he will ever get married to his lady love. However, as days passed by, Arpitha stated she somehow managed to send a letter to Keerthi through a commoner. Keerthi mentioned his happiness had no limits and was ready to fight for his love. He even stated that he got a tattoo of Arpitha's name on his palm at that time.

​Final struggles

While the couple strongly stood for their love and each other, after days of convincing, Arpitha's parents finally gave them a green signal for their marriage. Keerthi even mentioned that they did try to brainwash each other before their wedding as well. Finally, on an auspicious day, the couple tied the nuptial knot and started their new life.

​Arpitha gets criticised for marrying Keerthi

Happily married now, little did the couple knew they still had to face criticism for their marriage. Arpitha got emotional on the stage when she opened up about how people criticised her for marrying Keerthi. She mentioned that people still question her the reason behind falling in love with Keerthi and fighting to get married to him. However, she went on to say that she knows Keerthi will achieve something very big in the future.

​Being optimistic

Having faced many challenges in life, the couple is now happily married for over a decade and also has a five-year-old son Avishkaar. They share a Tom and Jerry relationship and are head over heels in love with each other.
