Deepika Das' entry in Bigg Boss Kannada season 9 was a much-anticipated one as the actress had featured in the promo as well. The actress entered the reality show as one of the senior contestants during the season premiere of Bigg Boss Kannada 9.

Deepika's journey inside the Bigg Boss house for the second time turned out to be an exceptional one. The actress had been her best during every task and activity. The actress enjoys enormous fame outside the Bigg Boss house for her competitive spirit, being truthful, and taking up a stand when needed.

The actress emerged as the captain of Bigg Boss Kannada 9 during the third week of the season. She is also the first female contestant to become the captain. However, Deepika's reign as the captain was not a cakewalk. She had to face a lot of hurdles before taking any decisions related to her co-contestants and tasks.

Considering the fact that Deepika had a very turbulent phase during her reign as the captain of Bigg Boss house, the host asked her what actually went wrong during the 'Odd one out' task. The actress replied that the contestants never bothered to listen to her when she was reading the guidelines and rules of the task. She also added that the contestants always cross-questioned her about the possibilities of something that were ‘baseless’. Having heard Deepika's side of the story, the host said that it would have been a better choice if Deepika had just continued the task by considering the major rules set by Bigg Boss. He hailed Deepika's captaincy in her initial days and mentioned that it would have been way easier if she had followed her responsibilities as a captain. Towards the end, Sudeep squashed all the arguments and told Deepika, "There has always been a record of every contestant ever since they entered the Bigg Boss house. Considering that, I don't think I will agree you showed favoritism.”

Deepika's Bigg Boss journey came to an end nearly after fifty-five days after the reality show. However, in a shocking turn of incidents, the actress made a quick re-entry as a wild card entrant the next day after her eviction.

Although she got evicted from the reality show mid-way, Deepika made a surprise re-entry as a 'wild card' contestant of the season which turned out to be a game changer for the actress. Deepika as a wild card entrant was fiercer and feisty in terms of her performance and entertainment quotient.

Senior contestant Deepika Das surprised her co-contestants with a brand new avatar in one of the latest episodes. The actress joined hands with her co-contestant Arun Sagar and disguised herself as a naive north Karnataka young lady who is on the lookout for the perfect match for herself. With a high waist draped silk saree, Sleek braided hairdo, and bright makeup with tooth extensions popping out, Deepika left no stone unturned to disguise herself into a new avatar. Arun Sagar introduced Deepika Das as his younger sister 'Mini Mini Meenakshi' to the housemates. However, Deepika's never-seen-before avatar came in as a surprise to the housemates.

Deepika Das is one of the rare contestants who earned 'Kicchana Chappale' (Kiccha's applause) two times consistently in the ongoing season. Host Kiccha Sudeep hailed Deepika for her performance and liveliness inside the Bigg Boss house.
