Kannada telly world has witnessed quite a few titles of shows that are inspired by hit Kannada films. In fact, many teleserials makers are trying to cash in on the popularity of the famous Kannada films, by naming their serials after Sandalwood films. Here is a list of few Kannada TV shows that have been titled upon hit films.

Jothe Jotheyalli

The title is taken from a super hit movie Jothe Jotheyali which had Ramya and Prem in the lead roles. On the other hand, Kannada television is currently airing the second season of the show Jothe Jotheyalli. While the season one featured Ashita Chandrappa-Viraat, the season two features Anirudh-Megha Shetty.

Milana was one of the most popular movies of Puneeth Rajkumar. It also featured Parvathy Menon and Pooja Gandi. In the telly world, Milana narrated the triangular love story, which became an instant hit.

The title is borrowed from Yogesh starrer movie Ambari. Till now, Ambari happens to be the best movie in Yogi’s career. However, the serial Ambari is all about a married woman and how she copes with her husband and family. The show featured Vinay Gowda.

Satyam Shivam Sundaram is titled after an iconic Bollywood movie. Needless to say, in Kannada, the show marks a TV comeback to actor Chethan Chandra and Apoorva, who plays the lead role.

The newly launched show is titled after Diganth-Andrita starrer movie 'Manasaare'. While the show narrates the story of a daughter's love, the movie was all about two youngsters falling in love.

​Naanu Nanna Kanasu

'Naanu Nanna Kanasu' was Prakash Raj's dream movie. Although the makers of the show claim that there is no connection between the movie and show, the fact that both narrate the story of a father-daughter duo is worth a mention.

Kasturinivasa is one of the best movies of legend Dr. Rajkumar. Referring to the movie, the show 'kasturinivasa' also has a similar plot compared to the movie. The show has Dileep Shetty and Amrutha Ramamoorthy in the lead.
