Kannada telly actors react on #Sandalwooddrugscandal

The #Sandalwooddrugscandal has indeed created a buzz. While the investigation is still going on, many celebs have opened up on the issue.

2/7

Geetha Bharathi Bhat

Kannada TV actress Geetha Bharathi Bhat opened up regarding her five-hours-long interrogation by ISD on the #Sandalwooddrugscandal. Speaking exclusively with ETimes-TV, the actress said, "The main intention of the ISD officials was to know if I knew anyone or have come across any of those people, whom they have interrogated. I am surprised by the way the media has portrayed me and the investigation. The reportage is kind of disheartening. I was not at all grilled by the ISD. I felt the whole questioning session was more like a lively chat with the officials."

3/7

Rashmitha Changappa

Speaking to ETimes-TV about her alleged connection with the scandal, actress Rashmitha Changappa said, "This kind of news really affects my career. It takes a lot of hard work to earn fame. Of course, the culprits have to be punished but I wonder why the innocent ones are being portrayed like this."

4/7

Abhishek Das

Abhishek, after his inquiry, which lasted for nearly six hours, spoke to the media, and said, "They have called us for inquiry. This is all that is known. I was hurt when news channels flashed news saying there is drug abuse in serials and also spoke about me like an accused already. Such news can be damaging to my career prospects and will also hurt my family and spoil my reputation among my fans and followers."

5/7

Ashita Chandrappa

When ETimes TV got in touch with actress Ashita Chandrappa and shared her thoughts about the on-going debate over 'Sandalwood drug scandal. "Firstly, I am unable to understand why only celebrities are being dragged in this scandal. Why not others? There are so many people behind the scandal. People don't talk about the good deeds in the industry but are always ready to talk ill about it. Moreover, it really hurts when a person from the same industry itself defames it."

6/7

Rakksh

Gattimela actor Rakksh also reacted on the ongoing probe against the drug scandal and mentioned, "It is very disheartening to see what has come to light with regards drugs. I request you not to be judgmental about actors. Not all five fingers are the same. There are actors who work hard every second of their life to achieve a great milestone.

7/7

Praveen Kumar

Speaking to Etimes TV, Praveen shared his opinion by raising a question"I feel the drug mafia is common in every industry and not only in the entertainment industry. Be it politics, sports, or even a common MNC for that matter, dug consumption is present. But I fail to understand why only actors are being targeted. Is it because we are in the limelight?"
