From Anirudh Jatkar to Vijay Suriya: Kannada TV celebs light candles to show solidarity following PM Modi's #9pm9min call

Responding to PM Narendra Modi's 9 pm 9-minute initiative, many Kannada celebs showed their support as they switched off their lights at home and lit diyas, candles and flashed mobile light in their balcony of the houses.

The Majaa talkies Rani showed her support by lighting the diyas at her place. Shwetha took to her social media handle and wrote, "It's done. 5th April 9PM 9mins Let's Bring hope let us all stand united and stay positive."

The newly wedded couple shared a video of them holding the diya on their social media handle and prayed "I wish everyone is safe out there and for the People who are going through a difficult time, I pray God that they should find happiness again."

Fondly known as JK in the industry, the actor sent out positive vibes as he stated, "t’s going to END soon! Just be very positive." on his Instagram handle.

Referring to the diya as "Lamp of hope, lamp of unity", Yamuna showed her support as she lit the diyas along with her family members.

Giving a glimpse from his balcony through a video, Suriya seemed to be overwhelmed by the response of the citizens showing towards the PM's initiative and requested everyone to maintain unity in fighting against the novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Chanting a devotional mantra, the Jothe Jotheyalli actor shared a video on his social media handle where he is seen holding the dia along with his family members.
