Chaithra Kotoor shelves directorial plans to concentrate on Lagna Patrike soap opera

Writer and director Chaithra Kotoor, who has acted in

soap operas

like Anuraga Sangama and

Sowmbagyavathi

returned to the small screen with the serial Lagna Patrike earlier this week. This is Chaithra's first television outing since participating in the last season of the Kannada Bigg Boss.

Lagna Patrike is a serial directed by Aravind Kaushik. Chaitra says, “I play Namitha, who is eccentric, selfish and doesn’t mind cheating her own family for her benefit. The character has negative shades and is on par with the leads as far as the narrative goes. I am quite eager to see how audiences react to my portrayal of this character. Although acting is not new to me, it's been a while since I was in front of the camera, having focused on writing and directing instead."

Meanwhile, Chaitra has also been signed up for the crime thriller

Hey Ram

. “I play a crime reporter, who is always on her toes to unravel the truth.” Amid all these acting assignments, does she have direction plans? “I was supposed to direct a movie about discrimination in society, but I have decided to postpone it for the time being, owing to the

pandemic

, and will start work on it sometime early next year till then I will concentrate on Lagna Patrike serial,” she says
