Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to Ishqbaaz: These six TV shows will go off air in the next three months

The year 2018 will see a series of big-ticket shows bid adieu to their loyal viewers after a successful run of a few years. However, that’s not the only thing happening in the television world. The last few months have also put the spotlight on a few relatively new shows, their fate being sealed due to a poor run on the ratings chart. BT gives you a lowdown on these shows. Udaan

Went On Air: August 2014 Going Off Air: September 2018

One of the most popular shows on TV, it has been running for four years. It had child actor Spandan Chaturvedi playing the lead role of Chakor; Meera Deosthale succeeded her as the grown-up Chakor after the leap. Having exhausted almost every trick in the book with characters returning from the dead, double roles, love triangles, murders and revenge, the show is all set to go off air by the end of this month. It will be replaced by Dastan-e-Mohabbat: Salim Anarkali from the first week of October.

Ishqbaaz

Went On Air: June 2016 Going Off Air: November 2018

The story of this big-ticket show revolves around three brothers and is known for its gigantic sets and glamorous costumes. The show is extremely popular for the chemistry between Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) and Anika (Surbhi Chandna). The show is all set to go off air in the first week of November.

Porus

Went On Air: November 2017 Going Off Air: September 2018

The historical magnum opus revolves around Indian king Porus and his fight with Alexander. The show started off on a grand scale. Even after almost a year, the show hasn’t registered ratings, as it couldn’t sustain the hype generated when it was launched. The show is all set to go off air from the last week of September.

Bitti Businesswali

Went On Air: May 2018; Going Off Air: October 2018

The show boasts of an unusual storyline, which revolves around a girl’s journey to achieve financial freedom. But with the show failing to make a mark on the ratings chart, it is all set to stop shop. Prakruti Mishra and Abhishek Bajaj play the lead roles in it.

Saam Daam Dand Bhed

Went On Air: August 2017; Going Off Air: October 2018

A revenge drama, the show revolves around four characters that are played by Bhanu Uday, Sonal Vengurlekar, Aishwarya Khare and Varun Toorkey. It also has a love story weaved around the four characters. Following a dip in the ratings, it will be replaced by a mythological bigticket show, Radha Krishna in the first week of October.

7/8

Mariam Khan Reporting Live

Went On Air: May 2018; Going Off Air: December 2018

With talented actors on board, the show revolves around a child actor, Deshna Duggad, and her adventures. While it started off well, it has failed to impress viewers and has never scored well on the ratings chart. The channel will pull the plug on it by the end of December.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein

Went On Air: December 2013 Going Off Air: 2018

Having had a successful run of five years, the show recently celebrated the completion of its 1500 episodes. A great storyline, gripping drama and good performances, the show revolves around the couple played by Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel; every other character associated with the show has also contributed to its success. The show was recently moved to the 11 pm slot to make way for another show. Of late, there has been a strong buzz that it is likely to go off air by the end of this year.
