It’s not just the makers, but even his wife, Ishita Dutta, loves him more in negative roles. Ask him about it and he replies, “Yes, that’s true (laughs!). Honestly, playing negative roles is much more fun, because there are no restrictions. I used to break glasses and punch people in 'Ek Hasina Thi', but it was all pardoned as my character was negative. I take the fact that people cast me more in negative roles as a compliment.. I remember that during 'Ek Hasina Thi', a fan of the show had a king-size poster of me in her bedroom, which she would attack after every episode!”

Talking about his character in 'YRHPK', he says, “I play an NRI, an old friend of the heroine, and my entry will bring surprises and twists.” Given his image, will it eventually turn negative? “I hope not (smiles),” he signs off.
