TV’s funniest supernatural comedy serials: 'Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai' to 'Pritam pyaare aur woh'

When we think of supernatural beings, we imagine powerful entities from another realm, capable of creating fear and chaos. But imagine your darkest fears getting the funniest transformations and narratives; imagine the rare yet entertaining blend of horror and humour. Now, if you have painted half a picture with this thought, then allow these supernatural comedies of TV do the rest of the job for you.

'Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai'

'Badi Dooooor Se Aaye Hai' is a story of an alien family that comes to Earth in search of their lost son. Their search was done across planets. However, their spaceship crashes on Earth, and they are forced to take up identities as humans. The aliens are struggling to adjust to human civilisation, and that's where situational comedy takes centre stage.

'Pritam Pyaare Aur Woh'

If you’re a lover of horror comedies, then you will surely enjoy watching this sitcom by Sanjay Satavase. The show opens with two brothers, Pritam and Pyare, accidentally solving a ghostbusting case that earns them undeserved praise. This causes a ripple effect and leads them to take up ghost hunting as a profession. While Pritam and Pyare are amateurs in the supernatural world, their hilarious encounters with paranormal beings are supremely entertaining. The unusual cases of ghost encounters coming their way and their war against them are sure to make you smile widely.

'Zindagi abhi baaki hain mere ghost'

Yug, a poor young fisherman, takes refuge in an abandoned haveli. Little does he know that the haveli is haunted by a family of ghosts. Although he is initially terrified, with time, he establishes a rapport with them. Yug’s developing rapport with the spirits is sure to tug at your heartstrings. While the ghost family makes use of every chance they get to frighten Yug, it is also they who give him the warmth and affection he has missed out on in his life so far. If you want a comedy that can make you laugh and cry both at once, this one is worth adding to your watchlist.

5/6

'Yam hain hum'

Yamraj, also known as the god of death, is hell-bent on changing the frightening perception that people on Earth have towards him. Determined to change his image, he descends to the Earth with his assistant Chitragupta. A rude shock awaits Yamraj when he realises the world has much more frightening versions of him. Yamraj, trying to alter people’s perception while aligning with the dos and don'ts of righteousness, makes the series an interesting watch.

Jijaji chath par koi hain.

The story focuses on two families co-owning a two-storey mansion, the Sharmas and the Jindals. However, a rude shock awaits both families when they realise that the house is haunted. The unlikely events that the family encounters regularly while interacting with the ghost are ridiculous yet exceedingly funny. While the ghost’s ultimate aim is immortality, the chaotic family is her biggest hindrance. The delightful blend of paranormal chaos and family drama keeps the viewers' attention gripped till the last episode.
