Troubled past with ex-husband to converting to Islam after falling in love with Shoaib Ibrahim; a peek into Dipika Kakar's struggles, family and professional life

Sasural Simar Ka fame actress Dipika Kakar has not had it easy in life. She has worked hard and struggled a great deal to build her relationships at work and in personal life. Here's looking at what she did before becoming an actress, her troubled marriage with Raunak Samson, conversion to Islam and remarriage with former co-star Shoaib Ibrahim.

Post completion of her studies, Dipika worked as a flight attendant with a popular airline for nearly three years. However, she left it and shifted base to Mumbai to try her luck in acting.

While talking about her struggles, Dipika had once revealed that she used to walk several kilometres to refill the mini stove she had. This was when she had not made a name for herself in Mumbai. She also didn't take to the city's fast-paced life initially.

Dipika married pilot Raunak Samson in 2011. However, the two separated in 2015 owing to personal and compatibility issues.

Dipika not only catapulted to fame with Sasural Simar Ka but also found the love of her life in co-star Shoaib Ibrahim. Even though the two didn't fall for each other instantly, their friendship blossomed into love after he left the show.

For her marriage with Shoaib, Dipika converted to Islam and took the name Faiza. She said in an interview to ETimes in 2018, "Joh sach hai woh hai...It's true I have done it, but why and when I have done it, I don't think it needs to be talked about. It is a very personal matter and I don't think I need to talk about it openly in front of the media." She had added, "I am very happy and proud that I have done it for myself and my happiness. Dipika Kakar Ibrahim was touted to be one of the highest paid contestants of her season. Before entering the BB 12 house, the actress had exclusively told ETimes TV that money was one of the reasons for taking up the show. She had said, "Yes, of course. Money is one of the reasons and I would not shy away from admitting it. I mean we all work to make money and I am doing the same. Ise kabulne mein mujhe koi sharam nahi..." When she was asked if the news of her being the highest paid is true?? "I so wish but I would not like to comment about it," she said. The actress shared a very close bond with cricketer Sreesanth Nair in the show. The two gave brother-sister goals inside the house.
