These actresses can replace Disha Vakani as Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

Going by producer Asit Kumarr Modi's claims, it seems Disha Vakani might not return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actress has been on a maternity break since September 2017. This has prompted Asit to lookout for a new Dayaben. He told BT in an exclusive interview, "I will have to start looking for a new Dayaben. No one is bigger than the show. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will go on with a new face, because the family is incomplete without Dayaben." Considering the hunt has begun, here are the following actresses who might do justice to the popular role...

2/9

Shilpa Shinde

Just like Disha Vakani, Shilpa has also played a saree-clad character in the sitcom, Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. While Disha is known for her famous dialogue 'Hey maa…mataji', Shilpa also gained popularity due to her one-liner - 'Sahi pakde hain'. Shilpa's excellent comic timing, something the viewers witnessed in Bigg Boss, also qualifies her for the part.

3/9

Suchita Trivedi

The recently married Suchita Trivedi has won several awards for her comic role in Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. The actress has plenty of experience of working in dramas as well. Her looks, talent and experience make her yet another candidate, who is suitable for the part.

4/9

Ragini Khanna

It's been a while since Ragini has been seen on the small screen. The role of Dayaben would be perfect to prompt her to return to television. The actress gained popularity for playing Suhana Bajpai in Sasural Genda Phool, and was loved by the audience for essaying the part with effervescence. There is no doubt that she would do justice the role of Dayaben, and give it a fresh lease of life.

5/9

Smita Bansal

Smita Bansal's look in Balika Vadhu is quite similar to Disha Vakani's in Taarak. The two actresses look pretty similar, and there are greater chances of Smita looking good with Dilip Joshi, who plays Jethalal, Daya's husband on the show. Smita's personality in real life will also make the character appear fresh to the viewers.

6/9

Sumona Chakravarti

Considering she is loved as Kapil's love interest and former on-screen wife, Sumona as Dayaben can be expected to be equally entertaining and hilarious. The actress' comic timing is also excellent. Playing the new role will let the audience peep into a different side of Sumona, and they will get to see her in a new look, which would certainly be an add on.

7/9

Supriya Pathak

Supriya Pathak is best known for playing Hansa in the popular sitcom, Khichdi. Her dialogue like, "Ae Praful...khana khake jana" became as big a rage as Dayaben's, 'Hey maa…mataji'. Often sporting sarees on screen, the actress has done several shows on television. It would be great to see her playing Dayaben, a character that is loved and revered by the audience for so long.

8/9

Sugandha Mishra

Sugandha Mishra has been loved on the small screen for her parts in The Kapil Sharma Show and The Drama Company. She was once a contestant on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge as well. The comedienne has played several characters on screen, and it would be fun to watch her as Dayaben opposite Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

9/9

Sucheta Khanna

Over the years, Sucheta Khanna has been the most preferred actress for playing parts in comedy shows. She has done several of them on television including Hari Mirchi Laal Mirchi, Lapatagang and the more recent Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se. Her experience in playing diverse roles with ease makes her a great choice for Dayaben.
