She captioned it as, “Happy women's day. I guess."

In the video, a man is seen threatening his bride-to-be. The man threatens to leave the wedding without marrying her if his demands aren’t fulfilled. The bride in the video is seen requesting her groom to stay back and that his demands will be fulfilled later on.

Sharing her opinion on the same, Sonya says, "It’s hurtful to see what women have to endure in order to get married, the dowry system still exists and I can’t ever comprehend why women have to pay someone to marry them?”

She continued, “Everyday is women’s day, you must love and respect every woman that’s a part of your life. We worship goddesses in the form of idols but disrespect the real ones that we live with. Whether she’s your mom or your girlfriend, they all deserve to be treated with love and respect every day. Such videos remind me that women are still fighting for the bare minimum.”

Sonya is currently seen playing the character of

Riya

in the show

Sirf Tum

. It's a strong character who is independent, courageous and holds her head high.
