Smriti Irani-Gautami Kapoor for Tulsi Virani

Smriti Irani, whose name is synonymous as Tulsi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Thi, shocked all when she decided to quit the show. There were reports of a big fallout between Smriti and maker Ekta Kapoor. Ekta replaced her with Gautami Kapoor but the TRPs took a serious hit. After a break of over eight months and a reconciliation, Smriti Irani returned to the show and reprised her Tulsi role.

Amar Upadhyay-Inder Kumar-Ronit Roy for Mihir Virani

The role of Mihir Virani was played by three actors Amar Upadhyay, Inder Kumar and Ronit Roy. And thrice, there was equal noise over the actors getting replaced. Amar and Smriti’s pair was very much loved by the people but the twist in the story came when Mihir died on the show. Later, Inder Kumar played the role for a brief period and three years later in 2003, Ronit Roy was roped in. Ronit and Smriti’s pair was super hit.

Shilpa Shinde-Shubhangi Atre for Angoori Bhabhi

Shilpa Shinde’s shocking announcement of quitting Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai became a huge controversy. Shilpa, who rose to popularity with the sitcom as Angoori Bhabhi, left the show in 2016 over a row with her producers, who she accused of mentally torturing her. She did not hesitate to call the producer of her show Benaifer a 'tyrant' and had a long legal battle with them. However, she was replaced by Shubhangi Atre, who has now lovingly won audiences’ hearts with her acting chops.

Saumya Tandon-Nehha Pendse for Anita Bhabhi

Saumya Tandon has a smooth exit unlike her co-star Shilpa. The actress, who became popular as Gori Mem, decided to bid adieu to the comedy show citing personal issues. Nehha Pendse has been roped in to replace her role and Saumya is all happy to learn the news. She commented saying, “I’m happy to hear this news. Nehha is a good choice. I have worked with her on a non-fiction show. I am glad she is portraying it.”

Karan Singh Grover-Karan Patel for Mr. Bajaj in KZK2

While a huge hunt was on for the portrayal of Mr. Bajaj in Ekta Kapoor’s reprised version of Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, Karan Singh Grover was finally roped in. However, after a brief stay and low TRPs, Mr. Bajaj’s character made an exit and then pandemic happened. His character was supposed to make a comeback but KSG wasn’t too keen on it. Hence, Ekta signed Karan Patel for the role. Post that, the entire show came to an end.

Rajshree Thakur-Rati Pandey for Preeti

Rajshree Thakur, who made her comeback on small screen with the show Shaadi Mubarak, was replaced overnight by the producers. While the makers didn’t reveal much, Rajjshree shared she wasn’t comfortable working long hours with a three-year-old daughter at home. However, sources shared there were creative differences. She got replaced by Rati Pandey.

Neha Mehta-Sunayana Fozdar for Anjali Mehta

Neha Mehta, who was associated with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for 12 long years, decided to quit the show last year. There were lot of discussion regarding her return but ultimately, Sunayana Fozdar stepped in her shoes.

Cezanne Khan-Hiten Tejwani for Anurag Basu

Cezanne Khan and Shweta Tiwari’s hit pair as Anurag and Prerna in the original Kasautii Zindagii Kay, came to a halt when the lead actor got replaced. Khan played Anurag from 2001 to 2007 and Hiten portrayed the role for a year as the show ended in 2008.
