He said, "Makara Sankranti is also a harvest festival for us. In Karnataka, a vibrant celebration unfolds every year with the arrival of Suggi Habba, the local rendition of the widely celebrated Makar Sankranti. It's not just a festival; it's a cultural extravaganza that brings communities together."

He continued, "Suggi Habba is Karnataka's way of welcoming the harvest season, mirroring the spirit of Makar Sankranti in Karnataka. The festival holds a special place in the hearts of the locals, celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour. It marks the transition of the sun into the Makara (Capricorn) zodiac, symbolising the end of winter and the onset of longer, warmer days."

Sharing ahead about the celebration, the 'Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul' added, "To celebrate the festival we adorn ourselves in new clothes, offer prayers to the gods, and we decorate our homes with sugarcane stalks and mango leaves. Here we will prepare Ellu-Bella a mixture of Ellu (white sesame seeds) mixed with fried groundnuts, neatly cut dry coconut and fine cut Bella (jaggery) offer to God and also distribute to each other. Also many other delicacies like payasa, vade, obbattu (holige), many avarekalu recipes are also prepared. The plate contains shaped sugar candy moulds (Sakkare Acchu) with a piece of sugarcane. There is a saying in Kannada 'Ellu Bella Thindu Olle Maathadi' that translates to 'eat the mixture of sesame seeds and jaggery and speak only good'. The festival is celebrated with joy and happiness."

On the work front, Karthik was last seen in 'O Pushpa I Hate Tears' in 2020 in which he essayed the role of Adhitya. Currently, he is looking forward to the release of his upcoming Kannada movie, 'Kaada' and will soon start shooting for another movie called 'Marga'. Karthik was second runner-up in the 2017 reality show Bigg Boss Kannada 5 and is known for his work in the Kannada television soap opera Ashwini Nakshatra, in which he played actor Jay "JK" Krishna.
