Sidharth Sagar and Subuhi Joshi get engaged in a low-key ceremony in Delhi

Stand-up comedian Sidharth Sagar and actress Subuhi Joshi exchanged rings on November 9 in their hometown, Delhi. The intimate ceremony was attended by Subuhi’s family. Stepping into this new phase of her relationship, an excited Subuhi said, “We couldn’t invite anyone as it was an overnight decision to exchange rings. Sidharth flew me to Goa on my birthday (October 29) and gifted me a ring. I accepted it and told him to speak to my mother as I wanted her approval, too. My mother, who is extremely supportive and understanding, accepted his proposal of our engagement. We thought of having the ceremony in Mumbai, but since my family is based in Delhi, we decided to do it there.”
The couple has had their share of ups and downs in the relationship and were even separated for a while. Subuhi shared, “Sidharth has always been unpredictable. Honestly, we were confused about taking the next step, as we reconnected after a long break. I met him in awkward circumstances after a video, in which he spoke about the difficult times he had been through, surfaced. We always felt that making it official might jinx the relationship. There were some insecurities. However, I feel that our relationship has matured now and Sidharth has also become more responsible and attentive towards me. Earlier, he wouldn’t even buy a rose on my birthday, but this time around, he booked a shack in Goa and surprised me.”
So, what did he gift Subuhi on their engagement? “The best gift he gave me is the commitment of a lifetime. I couldn’t be happier,” she replied with a smile.
