Shoaib Ibrahim shares his father’s health update amid hospitalisation; says, ‘The past week has been very difficult’

Shoaib Ibrahim recently opened up about his father’s hospitalisation and that he has been unwell for a while. The actor has now shared a YouTube video providing an update on his father’s health. He mentioned that his father is doing slightly better, and they are hoping for the best. Shoaib also shared that a surgery has been performed and that his heart rate has returned to normal.

Shoaib reveals his father is doing slightly better

In the video, he said, “The update is that, thankfully, my father is slightly better today. Today is Wednesday, and as I mentioned earlier, we brought him to the hospital last Saturday. His surgery could not be performed for three to four days because he was on blood thinners. The doctors said that surgery could not be done while he was taking blood-thinning medication due to the risk of excessive bleeding.”

The actor opens up about the surgery

Shoaib shared, “On Wednesday, he underwent a minor procedure called a brain endoscopy. The doctors made a small opening and removed the blood clot. Alhamdulillah, the surgery went well, and he is doing much better now. After the surgery, he was kept under sedation for a full day to manage the pain. Gradually, he started responding. When I first brought him to the hospital, he was completely unresponsive. He would just stare and would not react to anything. However, around 24 to 36 hours after the surgery, he slowly began responding.”

The important update

“As I mentioned earlier, the doctors were concerned that he was unable to swallow properly, which could have led to a lung infection. As a precaution, they placed him on a ventilator before the surgery. He had a mild breathing issue, so they decided to support his breathing through the ventilator. The surgery went well, and he remained on the ventilator for a few more days afterward.”

“Father’s heart rate reached 125–130 beats per minute”

“There were also some other issues. His heart rate had been elevated for the past four to five days, sometimes reaching 125–130 beats per minute. His blood pressure was also fluctuating. When he was awake, his blood pressure was normal, but when he slept, both his heart rate and blood pressure would rise. This may have been due to the various tubes and medical equipment attached to him,” he shared.

Shoaib requests fans to ignore the rumours surrounding his father

“Many of you have been messaging me asking for an update. This is the latest update. A lot of people have also been sending me different news reports and rumours. Please do not pay attention to those videos and stories. Many channels create content just for views. Whatever genuine update there is, I will share it myself. Please trust only the information coming directly from us.”

“The past week has been very difficult”

“The past week has been very difficult because I honestly did not know what to tell everyone. I was unsure whether my father’s condition was improving or not. But today, things are looking better. He is responding much more than before. He is not speaking yet. Speech will take time. Gradually, he will begin speech therapy and physiotherapy again. The physiotherapy will be a little different from before, but both therapies will start when the doctors feel he is ready. The best part is that when I met him today, he smiled and responded to me. Earlier, I felt as though he could not hear me, but now he reacts when I speak to him. I have to stand close and speak clearly, but he understands and responds. He smiles, laughs, and even tries to speak, though he cannot do so yet. InshaAllah, that will improve with time.”

“I feel much better”

“Overall, today I feel much better because I saw my father smiling and laughing. The doctors even helped him sit up for a while. He has become very weak and has lost a lot of weight, but Alhamdulillah, seeing him sit up was encouraging. I pray that when he finally returns home, he does so completely healthy. Speech recovery will naturally take time, but compared to the first day, the improvement so far has been significant.”
