Shark Tank India 5: Anupam Mittal bashes entrepreneur Shubham over his ‘NASA claim’ about his product; says, “Tujhe sharam nahi aayi”
Shark Tank India Season 5 is entertaining the audience with its informative as well as fun episodes. The sharks aren’t failing to not only educate the fans with new business terms and ideas but also entertain them with their personal and professional lives. The latest episode caught many eyeballs after an entrepreneur from Vadodara showcased a plant-growth device and claimed it was developed by NASA.
The episode began with him making a strong claim about his product that shocked the sharks and the fans. The pitch sparked reactions from all the sharks—Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, Amit Jain and Ritesh Agarwal. They first questioned him about his product and asked him if he was telling the truth.
The pitcher, Shubham Upadhyay, spoke about his brand, Planyt, and presented his plant-growth device to the sharks. While talking about his product, he claimed that it was “developed by NASA.” He further asked for Rs. 1.05 crore in exchange for 6.5 per cent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 16.15 crore. Shubham’s claims didn’t sit right with the sharks and hence he failed to secure a deal.
Shubham also revealed that a family of five would need to spend at least Rs. 7.5 lakh on his products. The sharks then questioned him over the same while expressing their shock. The pitcher even mentioned that he has been running the company since 2021.
The pitcher not only raised eyebrows of the sharks but also the audience. Shubham failed to secure an offer from the sharks and went home without a deal.
One of the major highlights of the episode was when he was asked if he developed the technology by himself. Shubham said it was made by NASA, but they “kind of perfected it.” He even claimed to be heavily funded by the government. Anupam later snapped, asking, “Tujhe sharam nahi aayi?”
